Urban PL — Competitive Pickup Soccer Platform

Program Description

Urban PL sends SMS messages to registered users who have opted in via the Urban PL mobile app or website. Messages fall into two categories:

Account Notifications: Game confirmations, team assignments, lineup notifications, match reminders, match results, tournament updates, and booking confirmations.

Sample Messages

Below are examples of messages you may receive:

Urban PL: You're in for 3600 W Sample Rd (7v7) on Sat Jun 21 at 7:00 PM. See you on the pitch!

Urban PL: Team assignment — you're on Dark (Team A) for tonight's 7v7. Kick-off at 7:00 PM.

Urban PL: Final score — Dark 2, White 1. Your stats have been updated. See match report in the app.

Urban PL: Game reminder — your 7v7 at Coconut Creek kicks off in 2 hours. Don't be late!

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your game schedule. You may receive up to 5 messages per game you are registered for (confirmation, team assignment, reminders, and result). You will not receive messages for games you have not joined.

Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard SMS and data rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to all messages sent by Urban PL. Urban PL does not charge separately for SMS messages.

How to Opt In

Users opt in through two methods:

1. Mobile App (iOS): During account signup in the Urban PL app, users enter their phone number and check an optional SMS consent checkbox. The checkbox reads:

"Optional: I agree to receive SMS notifications from Urban PL, including game confirmations, team assignments, lineup notifications, and match reminders. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help."

2. Website: Users can also sign up at theurbanpl.com/signup.html, where the same phone number field and SMS consent checkbox are presented during registration.

SMS consent is completely optional. You may create an account and use all Urban PL features without opting in to SMS notifications. Consent is not required as a condition of service or purchase. When provided, consent is stored securely in the Urban PL database with the player record.

How to Opt Out

You may opt out at any time by:

Replying STOP to any Urban PL SMS message
Withdrawing consent within the Urban PL app under Profile > Settings
Contacting us at admin@theurbanpl.com

You will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. To re-subscribe, reply START.

Supported Carriers

Urban PL SMS notifications are supported by all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others. Carrier support may vary.

Privacy

Your phone number and consent status are stored securely and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only as necessary to deliver SMS via our messaging provider (Twilio). For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
